Candice Blount - Lindsay
Artist Statement
Candice Lindsay is a Dallas-based artist living and creating in Oak Cliff. She grew up in Louisiana, and themes often emerge in her artwork. Invented new places often appear in her Art as imagined cities from childhood dreams, exploring different landscapes, and finding nature's treasures. Her wanderlust dramatically influences her work, and images of her travels peek through her paintings.
Candice experiments with various mediums to create collages and mixed-media artwork; she often uses acrylics in a palette of bright and vibrant colors. Her style is loose and expressionistic to communicate the feeling of a place or idea of a place.
In addition, she is an Art Educator in Dallas. She received her Master's in Art Education from the University of Florida. Her capstone research received the 2016 Eco Educators Award from WFAA. In addition, she is an avid contributor to Arts education in the community by serving on the Dallas Museum of Art Educator Advisory Council and a regular presenter at Texas Art Educator's Association conventions since 2013. She also works as an art educator consultant for professional development services to art educators.
She has been active with Kettle Art since 2017. She is currently working in her studio space at Art on Main in Dallas, Texas.
